Abrasion Resistance

Please explain abrasion resistance. What should I use for pews?
Hi Keith
Abrasion resistance is ability of a material to withstand mechanical action such as rubbing, scraping, or erosion, that tends progressively to remove material from its surface. Such an ability helps to maintain the material's original appearance and structure.
Here is a part of the specs for fabric
Description Azula 302 Storm
Abrasion Product meets or exceeds 50,000 Double Rubs.
Cleaning Instruction Solvent Cleaner.
The abrasion is 50,000 double rubs. That means a machine has rubbed the fabric 100,000 times before the fabric started to look worn. So the higher the abrasion count the better the fabric is. Rubs can go as high as one million or higher.
But for pews which are not used everyday you do not need that high of an abrasion count.
Thanks Steve
