How to add feathers to upholstered couch cushions?

by Eileen
(Illinois)

The cushions in one of our couches is stuffed with goose feathers. Over the years, the feathers come out or are flattened, and the cushions have become flatter than I'd like.

How can I add body to the cushions? Can I buy feathers somewhere to stuff in the cushions? Or, will batting work instead?

Thank you,

Hi Elleen

You can still buy feathers or down but I would just get some Dacron (also called cushion wrap)and wrap the existing inside feather cushion. This will add some body to the upholstered cushions .
