How to upholstered the retro sofa which have a hole

by Carina
(Malaysia)

I am in the mid of preparing one sofa. The sofa is retro type. the beauty of the chair is that at the back there is a hole which can allow you to see the cushion.

Can you teach me how to upholstered this type of sofa.

Thanks
Carina

Hi Carina

I presume you want to know how to upholstery the hole.
You would upholsterer the inside back first and make cuts at the hole to wrap the sides of the hole. Then when you do the outside back you will have to use pli-grip or curve ease on the sides of the opening. When back is on cut material about 1/2 inch from the curve ease and tuck it into it and flatten down with a rubber hammer.
