How I actually did it
by: Peggy

Hello,
I will try and post a picture of the completed chairs. I couldn't really do the channel back as was suggested. Instead I carefully laid the new fabric over the old original chair back fabric. I carefully pushed the new fabric gently into the channels so it looked exactly like the back with new fabric. I pinned it all in place and then used matching thread and a curved needle to hand stitch in the ditch. I was very pleased with the result. It did take some time to do both chairs, but I didn't waste any fabric or damage any machines. As I said I will try and post a picture as soon as I can. Hope this helps someone else struggling with a chair like this. I also decided to change the arms to match our new coach. I rolled one inch foam over the existing arms to give them a wider look and then I cut some wood to cover with fabric and add nail heads. I was very happy with the way it goes with the new coach.
