Cutting Foam

What I normally do is cut my fabric to the finished size and allow 1/2 inch on each side for your seam allowance.
As far as the foam goes you should cut it 1/2 bigger than the finished cushion
This allows it to compress somewhat and and fit better.
This also depends on the density of the upholstery foam. You might want to cut it bigger if the foam is a lesser density or maybe a bit less for high density foam.
In most cases the foam should be larger than the finished cushion.
